Kate Middleton's Pranked Nurse 'Died Of Shame,' Says Brother

Jacintha Saldanha, the nurse who allegedly committed suicide after she transferred a prank call to Kate Middleton's hospital room, apparently 'died of shame,' according to her brother. Read on for more on this tragic story.

Jacintha Saldanha, 46, a nurse at King Edward VII Hospital where Kate Middleton was being treated for severe morning sickness, reportedly 'died of shame.' Her brother Naveen reportedly told the Daily Mail that his sister was a 'proper and righteous person.'

Jacintha, a wife and mother of two, was a devout Catholic and would have been 'devastated' for unknowingly revealing confidential information regarding the Duchess of Cambridge's condition, according to her brother.

'She would have felt much shame about the incident,' he said.

Jacintha's tragic death follows a prank phone call where two Australian DJs, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, pretended to be Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles on Dec. 4. Fourty-eight hours later, Jacintha was found dead.

Her husband Benedict Barboza, 49, an accountant, said he was 'devastated' by his wife's death. Jacintha has two children, 14-year-old Lisha and 16-year-old Junal. Her daughter Lisha posted on Facebook, 'I miss you. I love you.'

The DJs who made the prank phone call gave their first interview since Jacintha's tragic death to Clare Brady of Channel 7's Today Tonight.

Mel and Michael said they were devastated and wanted to apologize to the family of Jacintha.

'If we played any involvement in her death then we're very sorry for that,' said Mel. 'We couldn't foresee what was going to happen in the future.'

'It was the worst phone call I have ever had in my life. There's not a minute that goes by that we don't think about her family and what they must be going through. And the thought we may have played a part in that is gut wrenching.'

We are very sad for both parties during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jacintha's family as well as the DJs. Let us know what you think below, HollywoodLifers!
