Gunman's Father & Brother Are 'In Shock' Over School Shooting ' Report

Adam Lanza Family

So sad. Adam Lanza killed 26 people, including 20 children, in Newtown, CT on Friday Dec. 14. The gunman died of a self-inflicted bullet wound, but his father and brother, Ryan Lanza, are being questioned by authorities. They, however, are not suspects.

The father and older brother of Adam Lanza, the gunman who killed 26 people on Friday Dec. 14 at Sandy Hook Elementary School, are currently being questioned by authorities, but they are 'not suspects,' a law enforcement source says in a new report.

Adam's unidentified father, who lives in NYC, and his older brother, Ryan, 24, who was originally identified as the shooter, are 'in shock,' a law enforcement source tells PEOPLE.

While they were both questioned in a Hoboken police station, they 'are not suspects, they have no involvement,' the source adds.

'Imagine the 24 year old ' he's lost his mother. Imagine the father, his son killed 20 kids,' the source says.

'It looks like there's mental history there,' the law enforcement source said, referring to Adam.

Adam died at the scene of the shooting, which took the lives of 20 children and six adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Adam's mother, a kindergarten teacher at the school, was found dead at her home.

Ryan Defends Himself On Facebook

After witnessing the horrific event on the news while at work in Times Square at Ernst & Young, Ryan took to Facebook to defend himself.

'Everyone shut the f*** up it wasn't me,' he insisted on his Facebook page on Dec. 14. 'I'm on the bus home now it wasn't me. IT WASN'T ME I WAS AT WORK IT WASN'T ME.'

After a friend allegedly asked if he was okay over the social media network, Ryan responded, 'It was my brother. I think my mother is dead. Oh my God.'

President Obama's Address To A Saddened Country

On Dec. 14, President Barack Obama addressed a shaken and frightened nation, speaking not as a politician, but as a fellow parent. Overcome with his own grief, he had to take a moment to regain his composure and wipe tears from his eyes. 'Tonight Michelle and I will do what I know every parent in America will do, we will hug our children a little tighter. And we will tell them that we love them,' he said.

Our thoughts remain with the victims lost, their suffering families, and the shaken community of Newtown, CT.

What do you think of this horrific situation, HollywoodLifers? Will this town ever recover? Will we as a nation?
