The search is on for the New Jersey father who was caught on camera for putting his young son inside an active washing machine. Authorities are locating the family in order to ensure the child wasn't hurt.

The May 11 incident at the Camden laundry facility was filmed via surveillance and turned viral after the video was posted on YouTube.  Authorities say the matter is not criminal but has been referred to the state's Division of Youth and Family Services.

According to the Daily Mail, the owner of the facility said that the father's actions were 'ridiculous,' and was thankful her employee was able to get the boy out before he was hurt. She does not know the toddler's parents, but reported the incident to Camden police.

The video is of a horrible prank two parents pulled on their young son. The father was shown putting his child ' who was still in diapers ' into the drum of a washing machine.

Next, in a baffling move, he shuts the door! The machine locked and started an automatic cycle ' with the kid still inside!

The parents, wildly frantic, try to pull on the door as the machine spun around. They then run for help. Luckily, an employee quickly responds and unplugs the machine. The child was pulled out and he looked unharmed. The parents ran out of the business.

Police are now trying to locate and identify the family in order to ensure the safety of the child.
