Brooklyn School Bans Hugging

A Brooklyn charter school will not tolerate hugging of any kind! Find out why they banned the affectionate embrace!

The head of the Brooklyn Prospect Charter School in Windsor Terrace banned hugging among its 300 students in grades 6 to 8 not because the school is anti-affection, but pro-punctuality.

'We have a 'get to class on time' policy,' Dan Rubenstein, executive director of the school, told NY Daily News. 'It's one of the reasons why we're among the most successful public middle schools in New York.'

The middle school students are not too fond of the decision.

'The main reason it's annoying is it just feels like they're trying to control us so much,' eighth-grader Sirce Skaife said.

In addition to the hugging ban ' students are not allowed to snack or go to the restrooms during the three-minute break between classes.

Their decision is humorous ' sorry kids!

HollyMoms, do you think hugging at school hinders your children's punctuality?
