The designer rocked the runway in a high ballerina bun at the 9th Annual Style Awards at The Stage at Lincoln Center on September 5. Here's how to get the look straight from her stylist!
Nicole Richie, 30, looked lady like and edgy all at once in a twisted top knot. If you love her look, we found out exactly how to get it from Wella Professionals Celebrity Stylist, Andy LeCompte who created the look for the event. Nicole presented Andy with the 'Hair Stylist of the Year' honor at the Style Awards airing on The Style Network on Friday, September 14th at 8pm ET/PT.
To achieve Nicole's stylish top knot bun, Andy used Wella Professionals Velvet Amplifier to prime her dry hair, working it through. Then he brushed all of the hair in an upwards direction to form a ponytail directly on the top of her head and secured it with an elastic. Holding the ponytail directly above her head, Andy twisted the hair a few times and wrapped sections around each other to mold the bun into an architecturally inspired style that could be mistaken for a work of art.
The bun was secured with a few strategically placed hairpins along the way. To finish, Andy used Wella Professionals Shimmer Delight Shine Spray, a light silicone based mist that helps smooth away any baby hairs and fly-aways. The sleek look complements her sexy attire, while the swooping fringe in front keeps the look playful rather than severe.
