From Blake's Marchesa ball gown to their self-penned vows ' their surprise wedding was the most romantic one of ALL time! Read on for all the cute details!
Blake Lively definitely had the wedding of a lifetime ' but with a hint of Southern flare. From birds chirping in the background to releasing biodegradable orbs off a dock, Blake, 25, and Ryan Reynolds, 35, made their super secret Sept. 9th wedding a memorable one at Boone Hall in Mount Pleasant, S.C. ' where The Notebook was filmed!
The Wedding
The extravagant celebration was a small one ' to say the least ' considering their celebrity status. Only about 60 guests, including Florence Welch and Christian Louboutin, attended the wedding, according to the mag.
'Ryan and Blake wanted to event to look and feel at home,' the wedding planner, Tara Guerard, told the mag. 'We created charm, elegance and magic of times past. It was truly a beautiful celebration.'
Blake was reportedly a hands-on bride and even had the help of friend/idol Martha Stewart! The celebration kicked off with an old-style carnival-themed cocktail hour that included 'B <3 R ' labeled popcorn.
The Dress, Tuxedo & Wedding Rings
Despite what has been previously reported, PEOPLE magazine claims Blake beamed in a couture Marchesa ball gown with crystal and rose gold embroidery and a silk tulle bodice ' a sight that brought a smile to Ryan's face.
'Her dress was very simple yet beautiful. She had small earrings, a delicate necklace and very natural makeup,' a source tells the mag. 'When Ryan first saw her, his face broke into a huge smile that crinkled his eyes. They just stared at each other with absolute love. Their faces were lit up with the candlelight, and it looked like something out of a romance movie.'
Aww! As for the groom's attire, he reportedly wore a Burberry suit with customized suspenders. Manhattan jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz allegedly designed the couple's wedding bands.
The Vows
According to the mag, Blake and Ryan wrote their adorable wedding vows on their own.
'They promised to support and love each other and to make each other laugh,' a source tells the mag. '[He] said he would treasure Blake; she said she would adore him. The whole time they were beaming.'
The Reception
After the two were announced husband and wife, the party moved to the Cotton Dock's boathouse where a deejay played old tunes like 'The Way You Look Tonight' and 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' ' a song that was sang by her good friend Florence Welch, from Florence + The Machine.
'A lot of people started to well up, actually. Ryan looked as her like he was digging that she was touched. He treated her like the most important person in the world,' a source tells the mag.
Definitely sounds like it was a night to remember ' we wish them the best!
