At least 10 people have been shot in a NYC shooting in front of the Empire State Building on Friday, August 23, CNN reports. The shooting happened around 9 a.m. ET and so far two people ' including the gunman ' were reportedly killed.

While details are still developing, a witness told CNN the gunman had a 'large gun' and was killed by a policeman.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is expected to make an announcement at 11 a.m. ET.
